Billie Lourd, daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, has issued a statement explaining why she did not invite her mother's siblings to the Star Wars Walk of Fame ceremony in LA
Lourd claims her uncle and aunts tried to capitalize on Fisher's death in 2016 and did not invite them to the event.
BLourd stated that her relatives processed their grief publicly by doing interviews and selling books after Fisher's death.
She also claimed they tried to profit from the death of her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds.
Lourd said she found out about her family's actions through the press and that they never consulted her or considered how it would affect their relationship.
Fisher's brother, Todd, said it was "heartbreaking and shocking" that he was intentionally omitted from the event.
Lourd said that she was very hurt by her family's actions and apologized for having to defend herself publicly.
